Physician Assistants
Physician Assistants are certified by national regulatory agencies and are registered with the North Carolina Board of Examiners. Working closely with the orthopaedic surgeons, they assist with initial evaluations, hospital services, and follow-up visits.
Ron D. Heniger, PA-C, MMSc
Ron works with Dr. Gordon Groh and Dr. Tally Eddings assisting in clinics and surgery. He is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, OH. He completed the Physicians Assistant Program at Emory University School of Medicine. Ron is professionally affiliated with American Academy of Physician Assistants, The Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Sports Medicine. More about Ron
Mark E. Jackson, PA-C
Mark Jackson works with Dr Werner Brooks and Dr Edward Lilly in Hendersonville assisting in surgery. Mark completed the Physician Assistant Program at NOVA-Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. His work as a Physician Assistant has included Family Medicine & Emergency Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery. More about Mark
John E. Newman, PA-C
John performs physical assessments for patients prior to surgery. John graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS and went on to the University of Illinois for his PHD in Organizational Psychology. John completed the Physician Assistant Program at the Hahneman University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is professionally affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physicians Assistants.
John S. Wood Jr., PA-C
John Wood attended University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a Bachelor in Health Sciences Degree in Physical Therapy. He worked several years in the Cincinnati and Saint Louis areas as a physical therapist before moving to North Carolina to continue his education. He attended Wake Forest University earning a Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He moved to Asheville after graduation in 2005 with his wife to practice as a Physician Assistant with Dr. Jay Jansen. He recently became a father. He enjoys running, golfing, hiking and spending time with his family. More about John
