Dr Gordon Groh leads course on shoulder fracture repair for orthopaedic surgeons throughout North America

Dr Gordon Groh led a session on shoulder fracture repair for the 2012 Current Solutions in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery course at The Foundation for Orthopaedic Research & Education (FORE) in Tampa, Florida, attended by orthopaedic surgeons from throughout North America. He also served as the course moderator for a session on elbow surgery, as well as total shoulder and reverse shoulder replacement. The two-and-a-half day course was designed to provide orthopaedic surgeons with a comprehensive update on the surgical treatments for various shoulder and elbow disorders.

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Annual Meeting

Dr. Groh is the course chairman for the instructional series, IC 270: Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty: Beyond the Basics, at the largest gathering of orthopaedic surgeons in the world.  Dr. Groh will also present a scientific paper detailing his experience with inferior shoulder dislocation and serve as an official evaluator for the meeting.

Blue Ridge Bone & Joint (BRBJ) is once again participating in the Asheville Chamber of Commerce Chamber Challenge 5k as the "Finish Line Sponsor".  With four teams in the race and numerous representatives at the event, BRBJ staff, family and friends will enjoy the fun and competition of this year's race.  This year's challenge race will occur on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. starting in the Chamber parking lot at its Montford Ave. location.  We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable "day at the races".

Dr. Groh is among world renowned experts at conference

Orthopaedic surgeons from around the globe recently gathered at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the preeminent provider of musculoskeletal instruction for orthopaedic surgeons and others in the world. Among of the leading orthopaedic practitioners serving as faculty for the conference was Gordon I. Groh, M.D., of Blue Ridge Bone & Joint. Dr. Groh shared his expertise during a two-hour educational session on reverse shoulder replacement.

Talk on Dupuytren’s Disease, April 19th

I will be giving a talk on Dupuytren’s Disease on Tuesday, April 19th at 12:30 pm in the Pardee Health Education Center at the Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville. Dupuytren’s Disease is a thickening of the tissue in the palm of the hand that can cause the fingers to contract into the palm.  Dr. Napoli will talk about the condition as well as treatment options, from traditional surgery to the latest minimally invasive techniques.  The public is welcome.  The talk is free.  Please call (828) 692-4600 to RSVP.
