James C. Karegeannes, M.D.

Dr. James C. Karegeannes [Care-ah-gene-us] graduated magna cum laude from the honors program of the University of South Carolina. He was a National Merit Scholar & Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from Duke Medical School in Durham, NC. He completed his internship at the San Diego Naval Hospital then returned to Duke for his residency in orthopaedic surgery. He completed an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY.

Dr. Jim Karegeannes specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery as well as more complex revision surgery for failed replacements. Dr. Karegeannes is certified in resurfacing hip arthroplasty, single compartment and bicompartment knee replacement surgeries in addition to total replacements. He is active in local and national joint replacement organizations to insure that patients in our region have access to the latest treatment options.

In his free time Dr Karegeannes enjoys gardening, wine making and relaxing with his wife and children.
