Dr. Hankley earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He completed his medical degree from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine where he graduated with high honors. He completed his internship and residency at Northwestern University.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and he is also fellowship-trained in spinal injection procedures. In addition, he is a member of several professional organizations including: the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the International Spine Intervention Society.

He has extensive expertise in the non-operative management of neck and back pain, interventional pain management, and electrodiagnostic studies.
