George attended Furman University where he was a vocal performance major and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music. In 1995, he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a degree in physical therapy and a master’s in health sciences. In 1998, he was the first off-clinic physical therapist from Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital (now CarePartners) in the setting that became Blue Ridge Bone & Joint Physical Therapy in 2000. During that time, he was the team therapist for the Asheville Smoke hockey team. He was one of the first physical therapists in the South to be certified in ART (Active Release Techniques) in 2001. ART certifications include full body (spine, upper extremity, and lower extremity), master’s level, biomechanics, and nerve entrapments. He continued his medical education, earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2009 from the Medical University of South Carolina. George has additional training with the AMFA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) level one and two, Titleist Performance Institute Golf Certification, dry needling, and additional yearly orthopedic courses. 

He was voted “Best Physical Therapist” in the inaugural Best of Blue Ridge 2018 (Times-News of Hendersonville). He is currently the site manager at the EmergeOrtho Hendersonville office.

He has a wife and two children. He enjoys playing golf, running, and singing.
