To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as to continue to provide essential orthopedic services, EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region is now offering telemedicine as an alternative approach to seeing patients with bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. Telemedicine enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from the comfort of their own home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology, such as a smartphone, tablet or computer. The practice will also continue to offer safe, on-site care for acute orthopedic injuries through their Orthopedic Urgent Care clinics at their Asheville office, located at 129 McDowell St., their South Asheville office, located at 2585 Hendersonville Road, and their Hendersonville office, located at 800 Fleming St.
EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region’s combined approach of on-site Orthopedic Urgent Care and telemedicine will not only aid in lowering exposure risk at the practice but also help reduce patient traffic in hospitals, emergency rooms and traditional urgent care facilities so those entities can focus on fighting COVID-19 cases.
“All of us at EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region want to do our part to help reduce the stress on our health system,” says EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region CEO Stefan Magura. “As we continue to react to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to assure everyone that we are committed to providing orthopedic care to the community while also taking proactive precautions for the well-being and safety of our patients and staff.”
Through telemedicine, the practice’s specialty-trained experts are able to diagnose over 80% of bone, joint and muscle injuries. This new, secure technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff.
“At EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region, we are committed to ensuring that residents of Asheville, Arden, Fletcher, Hendersonville and the surrounding areas have access to essential orthopedic care,” says Magura. “We know that orthopedic injuries can occur when you least expect them. That’s why we are continuing to provide specialized care to patients while offering a health-conscious solution through telemedicine during this unfortunate time of crisis.”
